The Evangelium Institute provides dynamic formation to adults in the Archdiocese of Omaha with the intention of bringing those we serve closer to a lasting experience of Jesus Christ and His Church.
Dcn. Omar F. A. Gutiérrez
President
Dcn. Gutiérrez has been working in the Archdiocese of Omaha for over a decade, and in the Catholic schools for over a half that time. He is a nationally known speaker, instructor and author. He was ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Omaha in 2017 and his wife Miriam and he have five children. Their home parish is St. Peter's Catholic Church
Mr. Tom Carney
Vice-President
Mr. Carney has dedicated much of his time and talent to help area apostolates grow and become healthy, functioning entities. His financial experience and expertise is a great help to the Board, but more than that is his passion for the Catholic faith and his dedication to helping people know how to live it. His home parish is St. Philip Neri - Blessed Sacrament.
Mrs. Theresa Gunia
Secretary
Mrs. Gunia is a convert. Knowing a life without Christ and now a life full of Christ fuels her passion for evangelization. A wife, mother and community volunteer – Theresa has led formal religious education efforts at St. Thomas More School and participates in the Archdiocese’s Mentoring Program. After a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, she experienced a deeper calling to spread the gospel to all peoples. She and her husband belong to St. Thomas More in Omaha.
Mrs. Katie Zimmerman
Treasurer
As an educator, Katie values the important role of Catholic education in forming disciples. She is an active member at St. Vincent de Paul parish and school as well as a volunteer for various Catholic organizations.
Katie her husband Rob have six children.
Mrs. Bernadette Esposito
Bernadette has been dedicated to Catholic education for years and is active on the ACD's Education Committee and the JPII Newman Center Leadership Committee. She is also a member of the Nebraska Catholic Conference and the Serra Club of Omaha. Her greatest passion has been Adult Faith Formation, especially involving Scripture study. She has an MA in Pastoral Theology and has taught in the Catholic Biblical School, offered days of reflection and retreats, and is a frequent contributor to The Good Book Club on Spirit Catholic radio. She and her husband Paul are parishioners at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, and they have three children and five grandchildren.
